By executive order, Oregon Governor Kate Brown, has ordered all public schools to remain closed for another six weeks, through April 28. It’s likely that the shutdown could be extended further depending on a number of factors.
Bethel School District Superintendant, Chris Parra, writes that “supplemental education and learning supports to students will be developed and delivered through independent study and other appropriate options.”
The school district continues to provide “grab and go” breakfast and lunch services at a long list of schools and other sites around the Bethel area.
“Bethel provided 683 meals to students Tuesday; that’s 300 more than Monday,” wrote Parra.
